The M40A5 designation superseded the M40A3 in 2009, though the evolution between the two systems occurred gradually over a longer period. The primary difference between the M40A5 and the M40A3 is the barrel: The A3's target crown has been replaced with a threaded muzzle and straight tapered barrel to allow the installation of a Surefire muzzle brake and sound suppressor.
Pulling the bolt back is a breeze, even if it has an fps of 450. All the modifications you can make are very simple. The hop up can be adjusted underneath the grip by spinning the dial though you would need to loosen the screw for further adjustments. There are dials on the side of the cheek rest that stay tight but once loosened to a certain point, will stay look making cheek rest alterations very simple.
It doesn't come with a scope, but what it does have is a scope rail where you can add any type of scope you desire. Once you zoned it in, it's very accurate and incredibly stable. The great this is this Super Deluxe version also comes with a VFC suppressor made specifically for the M40A5 which is a nice bonus.
The most unique aspect about it is the magazine. It only has a capacity of 14 bbs but it is rather heavy. 20 BBs may not be much, but you can carry a lot of these magazines!
